Detective Division
The Department's Detective Division has the primary responsibility for the criminal investigation functions within the Department, which includes the identification and prosecution of criminal offenders, as well as the compilation of evidence needed for the conviction of those criminal offenders. It is the Detective Division that serves as support to the Patrol Division through specialization needed to aid in crime prevention and detection of criminal offenses, assisting the Department's efforts to provide for our safe and secure neighborhoods, entertainment venues, and shopping facilities. The Detective Division also seeks to meet and exceed the expectations of the Department's mission, goals, and objectives through its' various investigative programs, including plain clothes investigations and surveillance, crime scene technical initiatives, and utilization of a representative approach to solving crimes. The Detective Division also serves as the Department's Internal Affairs authority in an effort to provide for and monitor department-wide professionalism. The Detective Division also consists of the Evidence Custodian Officer, Records and Identification Officer, Narcotics Unit, Juvenile Officer, as well as the Staff Services civilian personnel responsible for clerical and records administration. Lieutenant Clark has been with the Department since 1992. He was promoted to Detective in 1998 and to Lieutenant in 2001. Lt. Clark oversees the Department's Detective Division and clerical staff as well as records, evidence, and investigations. He is also a member of the Department's TACT Crisis Negotiations Team, where he serves as Primary Crisis Negotiator. Lt. Clark earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from King's College and a Master of Criminal Justice degree from Boston University. He is also a member of the American Criminal Justice Association. Lt. Clark received the Department's Exceptional Duty Award in 1999 and Community Service and Excellent Arrest Awards in 2001. Detective Dyanick has been with the Department since 1997. He was promoted to the rank of Detective in 2001 and is currently assigned as a criminal investigator and as the Department's juvenile officer. Det. Dyanick also serves a Community Service Officer. He was a Sergeant in the PA Army National Guard, where he served as a Fire Support Sergeant for 11 years. He also serves as Secondary Crisis Negotiator on the Department's TACT Crisis Negotiations Team. Det. Dyanick received the Department's Exceptional Duty and Community Service Awards in 2001. |
