Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Wilkes-Barre Twp. Police
Department is a progressive, growing law enforcement agency in one of the premiere
commercial districts in the state and home to the Wachovia
Arena and the Wyoming Valley
Mall.
The Wachovia Arena is home to the
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins which
is the American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the
Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers a
member of the Arena Football 2 League.

Our Mission
The mission of the Wilkes-Barre Twp. Police Department is to serve mankind, to
safeguard lives and property, to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against
oppression, the peaceful against violence and disorder, and to respect the Constitutional
rights of all persons to Liberty, Equality and Justice.

Department Profile
The Wilkes-Barre Twp. Police Department is devised of two
divisions; Patrol Division and Detective Division, and is comprised of 45
police
officers and 2 civilian personnel.
Our Department's Special Services Section, part of the
Patrol Division, include a Community
Service Officer Unit, a K-9 Unit, a Directed Enforcement Unit, and Critical Incident Tactical
and Crisis Negotiations Teams.
Recognized in national publications, our Department's Police Sub-Station, located at
the Wyoming Valley Mall, the largest enclosed shopping facility in Northeastern PA,
as well as our Sub-Station located at Wegmans Food Market on Highland Park
Blvd., remain at the forefront of Community Policing!
